Stoke City midfielder Tatsuki Seko is set to leave the Championship club for Urawa Red Diamonds in the J1 League. The 28-year-old has reportedly agreed to join the Japanese side, ending his two-year stint at Stoke after 75 appearances since joining from Kawasaki Frontale.
Stoke accepted an offer for Seko, who is now expected to complete his move to Urawa Reds. The Tokyo-based club finished seventh in the J1 League last season, narrowly missing out on Asian Champions League qualification. Urawa, who play in a 64,000-capacity stadium, are aiming to win their first league title since 2006 and have won the Emperor's Cup twice since 2018.

Seko's departure comes as Stoke overhaul their midfield, having brought in Ethan Galbraith, Svante Ingelsson, and Djibril Soumare. His playing time might have been limited this season, but fans have praised his work ethic and professionalism. Stoke finished 17th in the Championship last season with 55 points, scoring 51 goals and conceding 56.
Stoke will now focus on their upcoming fixture against Watford at home on February 13, 2027. Urawa Reds, meanwhile, have already started their J1 League campaign with a 4-3 loss to Gamba Osaka. Mark Robins, Stoke's manager, paid tribute to Seko, wishing him well in his next adventure.
