Stoke City are among the Championship trio interested in signing Hull City's promotion-winning right-back Cody Drameh. The 24-year-old has one year left on his current deal with the Tigers, but is likely to fall in the pecking order next season. According to Sky Sports' Lyall Thomas, Millwall, Preston North End, and Stoke City are each exploring moves for Drameh, who has made 55 appearances for Hull across all competitions since joining the club on a free transfer in the summer of 2024.
Drameh, who has ample Championship experience under his belt, has gone on to make 22 appearances in Hull's play-off-winning campaign last season. However, with Lewie Coyle already ahead of him in Sergej Jakirovic's plans at the MKM Stadium, and a new right-back reportedly close to joining, this leaves Drameh's future unclear.
Why it matters for Stoke City
Stoke City's full-back issues have been a concern for another year, with the Potters having failed to address them as yet. Junior Tchamadeu is set to miss the beginning of the campaign, having missed a large portion of the last one. A £3.5 million deal for Ipswich Town's Harry Clarke was reportedly agreed over a week ago, but that deal has seemingly gone cold, as the Potters look to Drameh as an alternative, having held an interest in the defender last January.
Stoke City will be hoping to strengthen their squad in the transfer window, and Drameh could be an attractive option. The Potters are currently 17th in the Championship, 55 points, 15W-10D-21L from 46 games, recent form LLLLD. They have scored 51 goals this season, conceded 56, and are 40 points behind leaders Coventry. Their last result was a 2-0 loss to Bristol City on May 2, and they have lost their last 5 games in all competitions. Their next fixture is against Cardiff on September 8.
